About The Shop

Nestled on Pike Street in the heart of downtown Cynthiana, Kentucky, Tay's Cloth Peddler is more than just a fabric store—it's a piece of the town's history. Our building has been in the family since the 1910s, serving as a hardware store. Taylena grew up surrounded by the spirit of the shop, never imagining she would one day expanded it with a fabric shop next door.

In 2007, when a local super Walmart led to the closure of a local fabric store, there was a community outcry for a new place to find quality fabrics. Though Taylena knew little about fabric at the time, she embraced the challenge. With a leap of faith and a lot of determination, we knocked down a wall in the hardware store and expanded into what is now Tay's Cloth Peddler. The space has since grown into a beloved local haven for crafters, offering a wide variety of fabrics, yarns, threads, and supplies.

Under the day-to-day management of Rita Fain, we remain committed to serving our customers and supporting the local community. We are proud to be part of the vibrant downtown Cynthiana and grateful to everyone who shops with us. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just beginning your crafting journey, we’re here to help inspire your creativity.
